JUBINALE Trade Fair 2012

Thanks to JUBINALE 2012 – Trendshow for Jewellery and Watches, Krakow once again became the summer capital of jewellery. The fifth edition of the JUBINALE fair was held from 17th to 19th of May.

This year at the fairgrounds in Krakow, we could admire gold and silver jewellery, jewellery with diamonds, pearls and precious stones, jewellery with amber and minerals, unique designer and fashion jewellery. At JUBINALE 2012 there was also an offer of watches, packaging and technical support.

The Association of Jewellery Experts had an information stand where they provided free valuation of jewellery and precious stones. The National Committee of Goldsmiths and Jewellers provided advice on the assessment of authenticity, repair and restoration of jewellery.

Jewellery Workshop

During the first two days of the fair, Antidotum Jewellery Art School organised an open workshop in weaving techniques. On the third day there was an exhibition showcasing the work done by all the participants.

As each year, JUBINALE 2012 was accompanied by numerous exhibitions: the Art Gallery in Legnica showed the work from this year’s Legnica Festival of Silver. Krakow, as always, is the second place after Legnica, where you can see some elements of this prestigious art event. Another highlight was an STFZ exhibition – “XX-Files”. This was a retrospection of 20 years of work and activity of members of the Association, documenting the changes that have occurred in the Polish goldsmithing industry for over two decades. Visitors could also see the Fresh Metal exhibition (this year’s work focused on the topic of geometry). Unique jewellery and accessories were shown by the students of Krakow School of Art, and the “Australian Inspiration” by Studio Rox – Adam Wyspiański (exhibition of jewelry and sculpture).

Trade visitors could broaden their knowledge by taking part in professional seminars organized during the fair. First seminar presented practical knowledge in purchasing, valuation and sale of precious stones. The second concerned the jubicom.eu – online platform for jewellery wholesale orders – “New opportunities to seek and buy wholesale products on the Internet and the revolution in the approach to wholesale suppliers on the Internet for jewellery market”.

Trend Scout of Polish Jewellery Award

The JUBINALE Organizer has been promoting young talents in the field of jewellery design since the event’s inception. In 2012 the title of “Polish Jewellery Trend Scout”, a free stand and a promotional campaign went to Martyna Tajwan, a graduate of Warsaw University of Technology, Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, and a graduate of Antidotum Jewellery Art School. She presented two collections: “Flowers in color” and “Organic pearl”.

Golden Dragon

During the Exhibitor’s Evening the Organiser rewarded the companies and individuals associated with JUBINALE and supporting the development of the fair with the Golden Dragon figurine. This year, the Dragon was awarded to:

  • Janusz Kowalski (Guild of Goldsmiths and Jewellers) – for supporting the Jubinale project
  • SILVAM company – Piotr Tyca and Tomasz Michalski – for consistent fair activity
  • STUDIO ROX Adam Wyspiański – for over 30 years of activity in the industry and a clear artistic vision.

JUBINALE was held in Krakow for the fifth time, faithful to the slogan of the first edition: “New markets – new perspectives”. Despite the economic difficulties, the existence of JUBINALE opens up new markets for many companies, bridging the time and location gap. The Fair confirms its attractiveness not only for visitors from the South of Poland, but also for the merchants from Central European countries.

The Organizer – Polish Jewellery Publishing House – would like to thank all Jubinale exhibitors and visitors who, by their presence at the fair, contributed to the success of this event. Many thanks to the media for their support in building a professional exhibition brand and all the supporters of the event, who support and help to organize it.

The Fair was held under the honorary patronage of Marshal of the Małopolska Region Marek Sowa, President of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski and Mayor of Gdansk Pawel Adamowicz.
